Membership Requirement Listing Policy
Pursuant to fair trade requirements membership in MRA is required to list in Blue Book. The requirement of membership is to ensure that all parties have signed the MRA Code, which is an enforceable set of standards that all members agree to.
MRA ensures users of Blue Book that all listers live up to the code and therefore are reliable vendors or accountable to action by MRA for violation of the code.
2002 Addendum
Pursuant to the rise of affiliated organizations or pseudo associations, MRA cannot accept listings from such entities without individual listings from participants (and therefore membership by each individual corporation). This is to ensure the users of Blue Book the same standards in providers. Affiliated organizations are not eligible for membership, but their individual entities are.
Since affiliated organizations can be volatile in their membership, a request for an affiliated organization advertisement will only be considered, if each individual member of the affiliated group maintains their own listing and membership. Additionally, the affiliated group understands that if change occurs between productions of annual print issues of Blue Book, that there is no recourse for print advertisement.
Additionally, if changes occur during the year to the memberships of affiliated organizations, the group representing affiliates accepts that any or all joint advertisements can and will be removed from electronic posting.
Prior to any discussions with affiliated organizations proof of a legal agreement by the parties to allow one party to act and initiate contracts on their behalf must be submitted.
By fulfilling the sections of this policy, meeting the requirements and engaging in a contract for listing, an affiliated group and its individual entities agree to the conditions and terms.
